Hello guys, i was 3 hours trying to rebuid the sources of my webcam drivers chip z star in Ubuntu 8.10 kernel 2.6.27-11-generic was complicated, but after reading many post of comments in some blogs i understood what happen because before compiled same sources in Ubuntu 7.04, 7.08, 8.04 but for 8.10 something is wrong, well the problem is about the kernel version that changed when i upgrade my Ubuntu from 8.04.

Finally i made a zip file with patch (from ubuntuforum) apply on the last source drivers gspca (gspcav1-20071224.tar.gz) called (more…)

How to install a webcam in Ubuntu (English Version)

Luego de buscar en la web, encontré algunos explicaciones sobre instalar el driver correcto: resumiendo me sirvió a medias

Ahora escribo la manera de como poder instalar una webcam genérica:

Antes que nada, verifica la NOTA, previamente!

NOTA: para poder realizar la instalación ejecutando “make install” se necesita ciertos programas que no vienen instalados por defecto en ubuntu, como el compilador, es por eso que hay que descargarlos:

sudo aptitude install build-essential
sudo apt-get install linux-headers-`uname -r`
